Sod pods are sold in eight 8-count packs. Each sod pod is 3 inches by 3 inches. Here is their coverage per square foot:
- 16 pack covers 36 sq ft
- 32 pack covers 72 sq ft
- 64 pack covers 144 sq ft
Here are the planting steps provided by Bethel Farms:
Prepare Holes
Mow the existing lawn close to the ground and water thoroughly. Dig the holes with 12 – 18” on the
center so pods are evenly spaced from each other.
Fertilize
Apply 1 tsp. of quality release fertilizer in each hole. This fertilizer acts like a booster to prime the trouble spot in advance of repairing. (We recommend starter fert)
Plant Pods
Press firmly into the fertilizer-primed hole, leaving NO air space around the edges. Turf runners should be flush to the ground.
Water Pods
After the area has been repaired and fertilized, water thoroughly to remove air pockets for optimal performance.
Keep soil moist at least 6” to 8” deep.
Post Pod Care
Thoroughly watering EVERY DAY is the key to plugging success! Keep soil moist at least 6″ to 8″ deep. Once pods are rooted (10-20 days), new runners should appear. Decrease watering to twice per week.
