How do I prevent and/or cure dog urine spots in the lawn?

Unfortunately, there isn’t a specific product that can completely stop dog urine spots from happening, but there are some options that can help minimize and/or prevent this as much as possible.  All dog urine can burn the lawn. The bigger the dog the more likely their urine will burn the lawn, simply because they have a larger bladder and will have more urine. 

Here are a few options to consider: 

• Make a designated area in your lawn for the dog to pee in, knowing that this part of the lawn will never look as good as the others. 
• In some cases, when the dead spots are bad, you can rake out the dead grass, drop grass seed in the bare spots, and put about 1/4" of peat moss or Scott's Patch Master over the top of the seed. You can also rake out the dead grass and drop a piece of sod in those areas if you don't want to seed. Either way, make sure to keep the sod or seed moist for about 3 - 4 weeks to help get it established.
