The compaction cure pack includes both RGS and Air-8. Applying both of these products together has been to be a very effective way to relieve soil surface and root zone compaction in lawns and will power your turf through both surface and subsurface compaction.
By stimulating root growth at the same time that the entire soil surface is opened up to allow for increased air and water penetration, we are attacking compaction at the soil’s surface as well in and below the root zone. As an additional benefit, this application leaves behind carbon particles that serve as both a food source to soil organisms and a block against the binding (re-compaction) of soil particles.
Application Instructions for use as a Compaction Cure combo:
We recommend 3-4 applications per year of the Compaction Cure combo for lawns that show signs of compaction issues. Depending on the degree of compaction, it may be necessary to make combo applications for more than one season before transitioning into a maintenance application rate/schedule of the N-Ext RGS™ and N-Ext Air8™.
Compaction Cure Application and Temperature Timing:
1) Apply in the morning or evening when the temperature is not above 85 degrees
2) followed by the watering-in instructions listed below.
Application with Backpack or Pump Sprayer:
1) Mix 6 ounces of RGS with 9 ounces of Air-8 per 1,000 sq ft of turf. Dilute at a minimum of 5 to 1 with water.
2) Agitate well. Apply to turf.
3) We recommend watering this application in for 10-15 minutes immediately after the application to achieve optimum soil penetration.
Application with a Hose-end Sprayer: Apply to each 2,000 sq. ft. section as follows:
1) Fill the quart (32 oz) with 12 ounces of RGS, 18 ounces of Air-8, and 2 ounces of water to fill the entire quart.
2) Stir/Shake well and apply to your 2,000 sq ft section
3) We recommend watering this application in for 5-10 minutes immediately after the application
to achieve optimum soil penetration.

You should only need to perform the heavy apps for a single season, 3-4 applications. After that, you should be able to keep your soil properly aerated with the lesser concentrated apps of Air8 down at 6 oz/1000 sq ft and the RGS can even go down to 3 oz/1000 sq ft in most cases as well. In other words, you shouldn’t have to use the Compaction Cure every single year, so only get what you need and just do maintenance doses from there on out.
