Hydretain is available in both a granular and a liquid form. Once applied, either form will stay in the soil for approximately 90 days.
Applying Liquid Hydretain
The first thing to note before applying liquid Hydretain to any lawn is that the grass being treated must be WET prior to application. Liquid Hydretain is not created to go on dry grass, but instead it is to be applied after a normal round of irrigation, watering, or rain.
Once the liquid Hydretain has been applied to the turf it must be immediately watered in with ½” of water. Liquid Hydretain cannot be allowed to dry on the grass awaiting a future rain or irrigation.
The application rate for liquid is 6-9 oz/1,000 sq ft.
The 1 quart (32 oz) in the easy-to-use hose-end sprayer will cover ~5,300 sq ft.
The 1 gallon (128 oz) will cover ~21,300 sq ft.
Applying Granular Hydretain
The first thing to note before applying granular Hydretain to any lawn is that the grass being treated must be DRY prior to application. Once the granular Hydretain has been applied to the turf it must be watered in with ½” of irrigation or rain within 24 hours.
The application rate for granular is 2.5-3 lbs/1,000 sq ft.
The 3 lb. bag will cover ~1,000-1,200 sq ft
The 15 lb. bag will cover ~5,000-6,000 sq ft
