When is the Best Time to Install Sod?

You can install sod anytime during the growing season. That being said you want to avoid extreme cold and extreme heat, therefore it best to aim for spring and fall. Your sod roots can take 2-6 weeks to get established so you will want to keep that time frame in mind and try to line up your installation to avoid those hot or cold temperatures during the establishment window as well. The less stress you can put on the sod and its roots during install and the weeks it is getting established the better.
